Programme

The film will be accompanied by works, and sections of works, selected for the moods they evoke rather than the actual specific content of the pieces. At various points during the two hours of the film, you will hear all the movements of Vierne's Solemn Mass, one of Brahms' Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy Songs), parts of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Catulli Carmina, and so on. In addition, considerable sections of the film are accompanied by organ or piano improvisation in true silent movie style.
